An embroidery yarn which has smoothness and sheen so typical of rayon thread.
In 1910 a new fibre was manufactured from regenerating wood pulp. It was not until 1924 that this new fibre was called rayon.
This yarn dates from between 1910 and 1924 as the labels read – ‘Wood pulp yarn’, after that date all labels read ‘Rayon’
